Video Chat for Instagram is confirmed

Video chat for Instagram was announced at Facebook’s F8 conference and it looks like a killer addition! Inspired by Messenger’s ability to make video calls, the addition is a welcome one:

“Quite a few Instagram users already use the platform’s video feature to chat with friends and hang out.” – Mark Zuckerberg

The addition is likely to be very straightforward. Integrating video chat for Instagram should be a seamless job, not only for the Instagram engineers but also for the users. It seems Instagram video chat is the next step in the evolution of the social sharing platform, with users already sharing live videos with one another.

Other announcements include Facebook Dating, a Whatsapp update, a Messenger makeover, and more.

We expect other social media tools to start integrating these features shortly, provided they’re allowed to.
