Geosurf Review – All You Need To Know Before You Try It

Do you need to find out the truth about Geosurf? You’re in the right place!

My comprehensive Geosurf review will tell you all you need to know:

  • Is Geosurf safe to use?
  • How good is their service?
  • Is it worth the price?
  • Are there good Geosurf alternatives?

Without further ado, let’s dig in!

What Is Geosurf?

A screenshot of Geosurf’s homepage

Founded in 2009, Geosurf is a pioneer proxy provider with a large proxy pool and pretty hefty prices.

Their service is mostly oriented towards big-budget corporations that can afford to spend thousands of dollars a month on proxies.

Unfortunately, Geosurf is inaccessible to most individuals and small companies simply due to its steep price points (Scroll down to the Pricing section for more info).

But, is the service really worth the money? Or is it overpriced?

I’m afraid it’s the latter.

Although great, Geosurf’s features are overpriced, especially when you can find proxy providers that offer similar features that cost four times less, for example, Proxyland

As I mentioned above, Geosurf is a top-notch company, and their proxies can be helpful. They offer residential proxies and break them down into a few categories:

  • Rotating residential proxies
  • Static residential proxies

Geosurf also has a separate section on its website where they offer “Instagram proxies” and “Ad verification proxies.”

These are the typical residential proxies with fancy names. The logic behind it is to show their clients just how useful residential IPs can be for those use cases.

Instagram automation is trendy right now, and many social media account managers use bots to automate various tasks.

The issue is that Instagram restricts and quickly detects bots. With residential IPs, you can bypass these restrictions.

Both rotating and static proxies are useful; it just depends on your needs.

Rotating IPs are ideal for large-scale data scraping and similar use cases, while static IPs help when you need to keep the same address for a while (sneaker shopping, etc.).

With 2 million IPs, Geosurf’s proxy pool is large but not the largest out there. Some other companies offer significantly bigger pools, and they don’t cost nearly as much.

Most of the residential IPs come from Asia (almost a million), next is Europe, and North America is in third place by the number of IPs.

These IPs come from 192 countries in total, so country targeting is Geosurf’s strong suit.

They also cover around 1700 cities, but they list city targeting as a premium feature, so it doesn’t come with every package.

You can use Geosurf’s proxies for plenty of use cases:

  • Social media automation
  • Data scraping
  • SEO & SERP analysis
  • Price comparison
  • Ad verification
  • Affiliate link verification
  • Retail (sneaker bots, Craigslist)

Geosurf’s popular product is its proxy toolbar. Many user reviews mention it to be practical as it allows you to:

  • View geo-targeted content
  • Quickly switch between rotating and static IPs
  • Set up IP rotation time
  • Clear cookies and cache
  • Take screenshots
  • Switch between different devices, including mobile

Besides residential proxies, Geosurf also offers:

  • Mobile VPNs
  • Desktop VPNs

I won’t go into details about the VPNs as they’re not the primary focus of this review, but it’s useful to know they are an option if you decide to use Geosurf’s services.

Best Geosurf Features

Geosurf offers some great features:

  • Big proxy pool

Geosurf’s residential IPs network has 2 million IPs that you can use for a multitude of use cases.

  • The entire proxy pool at your disposal

The company charges per bandwidth, not per proxy, which means you get access to the whole proxy pool. This is a neat feature that you don’t come upon often with proxy providers.

  • Sticky & rotating sessions

You can choose between two types of sessions: rotating and sticky

With rotating sessions, your IP changes with each request.

If you need your address to remain the same for a short time, you can use sticky sessions. Geosurf allows you to use sticky sessions for up to 30 minutes.

  • No limitations

With Geosurf’s IPs, you get an unlimited number of concurrent sessions.

  • Fast connection

Thanks to Geosurf’s proprietary Automatic Bandwidth Optimization technology, you get the fastest possible connection from each gateway on their proxy network.

  • HTTP/HTTPS support

Geosurf’s proxies support HTTP and HTTPS protocols.

However, they DO NOT support the SOCKS5 protocol, which is a downside if you need UDP for traffic-intense tasks such as video streaming or live calls.

Pricing Of Geosurf

Let me just say it point-blank that Geosurf is NOT an affordable proxy provider.

Most of their packages are not available to small companies or individuals. Perhaps as a one-time deal, but certainly not on a monthly basis.

To see what I mean, check out the image below:

An image showing Geosurf’s tariff plans

Geosurf’s price per GB goes as high as $12. Given that they don’t offer unlimited bandwidth, you will need to pay for additional data.

Now, you do the math and see if it’s worth it.

Let me give you a hint: it’s really not.

If you have a limited budget, Geosurf may not be for you because:

  • Their plans cost a few thousand dollars A MONTH.
  • They ask for HUGE monthly commitments.
  • They don’t have pay-as-you-go options.

Why would you spend so much money on features that you can find four times cheaper with other providers, such as Proxyland?

For comparison’s sake, this is what you get with Proxyland

  • 1GB for 2.9 USD
  • Affordable, customizable packages
  • Discounts on bulk packages
  • Residential IPs from 100+ countries
  • Safe and reliable proxies
  • 99.99% uptime
  • Unlimited connections
  • Responsive customer support

The Best Alternative To Geosurf – 4 Times Cheaper

Yes, Geosurf is an excellent choice if you have enough money in your budget. However, even if that’s the case, why would you overpay for features that you can find elsewhere a lot cheaper?

Proxyland is an exceptional Geosurf alternative. This proxy provider offers a giant proxy pool with millions of residential IPs.

These IPs come from 100+ countries, so you can count on accurate country targeting. You can also use the proxies for any use case scenario you wish.

And the best of all – you get all this for $2.9 per GB.
