Surge Proxies Review – Is It A Quality Service? The Full Truth

Rate this post

I wanted to test out Surge Proxies for a long time. So, I did my research, and let me tell you – there are almost no detailed reviews about this service.

Because of this, I decided to write my own firsthand Surge Proxies review and share it with you guys.

Keep on scrolling to find out more!

What Is Surge Proxies?

Surge Proxies is an established proxy provider known for its lightning-speed proxies.

Surge Proxies offers three types of proxies:

  • ISP proxies
  • Residential Proxies
  • Datacenter Proxies

Now, I think we’re all familiar with what datacenter and residential proxies are.

For those of you who aren’t – data center proxies come from the data center servers. They are much cheaper and faster but are easily detected.

On the other hand, residential proxies are addresses of real people and are traced back to real, physical locations. They are much slower but almost undetectable.

And ISP proxies?

Well, they are a mix of both worlds.

ISP proxies are hosted on data center servers and supported by an ISP network (Internet Service Providers).

That means they have a speed of data center proxies and reliability and security of residential proxies.

They are perfect for:

  • Sneaker copping
  • Private browsing
  • Web scraping at high speed

People usually buy Surge Proxies for sneaker copping, as their proxies are optimized for that particular use case.

You can use their proxies for other use cases:

  • Cybersecurity
  • Social media automation
  • SEO and SERP analysis
  • Market research, etc.

But it’s highly unlikely you will succeed since their focus are sneaker sites.

Best Surge Proxies Features

These are the main Surge Proxies features:

Big Proxy Pool

Surge Proxies has an impressively big proxy pool of over 20+ million residential IPs.

This puts Surge Proxies side to side with some of the biggest, premium proxy providers.

Instant Delivery

Surge Proxies offers instant delivery or, as they claim: ‘up to 45-minute activation’.

That means that there’s no email confirmation or similar.

As soon as you create your account, purchase a package, and log in – your IPs are ready to use.

Fast Proxies

Surge Proxies claims they have some of the fastest proxies on the market.

And they don’t lie about that.

Their proxies are very fast, and a check-out process on any online sneaker shop is a piece of cake.

Locations are not Surge Proxies’ strong suit.

They offer only one location in the US, and that’s Ashburn, Virginia, for their ISP proxies.

As for their residential proxies, they didn’t list the exact locations. But apparently, you have an option to target cities.

They also offer whole servers, which sit in Chicago and Virginia.

Nevertheless, you can open a support ticket on Discord and ask their customer support to add a location. But it costs a lot more.

IP Authentication

Surge Proxies only offers user/password authentication and no IP whitelisting.

This is usually a better solution, not the other way around.

Unlimited Bandwidth

Their ISP plans come with unlimited bandwidth, which is always a great feature.

That way, you can use as much traffic as you need as you’re paying per number of proxies in the package.

Sticky Sessions

Surge Proxies offer only sticky sessions and no rotating ones.

But still, since they are a specialized proxy provider primarily used for sneaker copping, a sticky session is just what you need.

With rotating sessions, your IP changes with every new request.

But with sticky ones, it stays the same during the whole session. And that’s just what you need for the checkout process.

Surge Proxies Pricing

Surge Proxies has three subscription plans:

You can choose from 2 GB, 4 GB, 6 GB, 8 GB, or 10 GB for their residential plans. The prices vary from $35 up to $115 and are valid for 60 days.

Now, as you can see, they don’t exactly offer many fancy features, but their prices tell a different story.

On the other hand, ISP proxies are the new kids on the block (a mix of datacenter proxies’ speed and residential proxies’ safety), and that’s why they are the most expensive option available.

However, Surge Proxies doesn’t offer many locations (read: only one location!), doesn’t have both authentication types or other fancy features.

And then again, their ISP plans go as high as $120 per week and astonishing $300 per month.

That’s an awful lot considering their proxies are usually only used for sneaker copping.

Is Surge Proxies Any Good?

If you’re strictly looking for a proxy provider that sells quality and fast sneaker proxies – Surge Proxies is a good choice.

Surge Proxies is a legitimate and trustworthy company, which ISP proxies are fast.

What’s more, your safety is their number one concern, so don’t brood about getting banned.

However, you can’t use Surge Proxies’ services for other use cases nor for a long time.

I mean, you can – but only if you have deep pockets.

Their prices are premium, but their features aren’t. And that’s the main dealbreaker for me.

Why You Should Try Surge Proxies

  • You need fast proxies for copping sneakers.
  • You don’t mind monthly commitments.
  • You don’t require rotating proxies.
  • You don’t have a limited budget.

Why You Should NOT Try Surge Proxies

  • A limited set of features.
  • Only one location in the US.
  • Suited for one case use – sneaker copping.
  • Very expensive in the long run.
  • Not suited for individuals.
  • Not suited for small or mid-sized companies.
  • No pay-as-you-go option.
  • Big monthly commitments.
  • No custom packages.
  • Only sticky sessions.

The Best Alternative To Surge Proxies

Surge Proxies are fine, but they can’t cover many use cases.

These proxies are mainly designed for sneaker copping and have very limited features.

In addition, they are too expensive to use over a longer period.

That’s why these kinds of proxy providers almost always include weekly plans. They’re aware of the fact that users use sneaker proxies for a certain drop.

Having said that, I found a great alternative for Surge Proxies that anyone can afford – Proxyland

Their prices start at $2,9 per GB of data.

Proxyland also offers:

  • Wide range of features
  • Plenty of use cases
  • Big residential proxy pool
  • Over 100+ countries worldwide
  • 99% uptime,  etc.

Surge Proxies: Overall Score

These are the key points of Surge Proxies:

Quality: The company’s ISP proxies work very well. ✅

Trustworthiness: Surge Proxies’s services are entirely safe to use. ✅

Performance: Their uptime is excellent. ✅

Features: Their features are limited. ⛔

Price: The company’s services are too expensive for individuals.⛔

Accessibility for small businesses: Not suited for small or mid-sized companies. ⛔

Affordability: Their proxies are great for sneaker copping, but only in the short-term. ⛔

What are my final thoughts on Surge Proxies?

I think their ISP proxies are top-notch, and they work very fast, which is very important if you want to catch a limited-edition pair.

However, I still wouldn’t recommend them because they have very little to offer in terms of use cases, features and locations.

You can easily find a service that can fulfill all your needs for much less money than Surge Proxies.

Check out Proxyland, and you’ll know what I’m talking about.
